day 8: luckily, i was able to remove most of the wax from the carpet. i swear if it weren't for my keen sense of hearing, and the fact that the wax dripping onto the floor sounded like a ticking time bomb, i would have had a bigger mess on my hands, let alone the counter and the floor.
